Well, my expectations have been shattered (finally). King of Fighters XV has finally released information about their upcoming Season Pass 1. Team Garou consisting of Garou: Mark of the Wolves alum Rock Howard, B.Jenet and Gato will be released March 2022. Team South Town consists of Geese Howard, Billy Kane and Ryuji Yamazaki will be available May 2022.
Team Garou was rumored for a while and I am glad the rumors were true. Rock Howard is a vastly popular character amongst fighting game fans alike since Capcom vs SNK 2. And those who’ve played Garou have long wanted more characters from that game in future King of Fighters games. B. Jenet is a personal favorite of mine and her new character model looks amazing. Team South Town was teased in the trailer, but no gameplay was shown. We did get to see their character renders. I am happy to see Yamazaki back even though I know he will terrorize me again as he has all these years.
Season Pass 2 will consist of two more unannounced teams coming Summer and Fall of 2022. This is really great news for the game as with already a huge launch roster of 40 characters, these two season passes will add twelve more characters. The final roster for King of Fighters XV might actually match or exceed King of Fighter XIV. We’ll have to wait and see how much more DLC will be added to the game. Unfortuately, we don’t have any pricing at the moment. It’s safe to say that if this game becomes a huge success, we’ll be having more character passes in the future.
