Based on the popular video game series, Twisted Metal is an action comedy that’s set to premiere on Peacock on July 27, 2023. With stars like Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Neve Campbell, Samoa Joe, and Will Arnett as the voice of Sweet Tooth, this show has some serious talent behind it.
Mackie plays John Doe, a smart-mouthed milkman who’s hired to deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland and fend off marauders in the process. It’s a classic setup, but with a video game twist that could make for some serious entertainment.
And let’s not forget about Samoa Joe as Sweet Tooth. He only appears briefly in the trailer, but man does he look intimidating. I can’t wait to see what he brings to the role.
With only Mackie and Samoa Joe appearing in the trailer, there’s still a lot of mystery surrounding the rest of the cast and what we can expect from this series. But with 10 episodes for the first season, there’s plenty of time for Twisted Metal to explore its post-apocalyptic world and its eccentric characters.
All in all, I’m definitely curious about this one. If you’re a fan of the video game series or just looking for something new to watch, be sure to keep an eye out for Twisted Metal when it drops on Peacock this summer. Check out the new trailer below:
