Venezuelan indie developer Sukeban Games has revealed their latest project, a spiritual successor to the cult classic Parasite Eve. Titled .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND, this new game has been in development since late 2019, during a particularly challenging period for the team.
Development initially focused on prototyping and character design, leading to the current form about two years ago. From the outset, the game drew inspiration from Parasite Eve, though its moment-to-moment gameplay evolved through numerous iterations. What emerged is an “Active Time Action” game that blends elements of survival horror with a unique combat system where positioning and skill-chaining are essential for survival.
The story centers on Reila Mikazuchi, a gun-for-hire seeking to rebuild her life after emerging from a deep depression. Her journey is fraught with familiar dangers, but the question remains: is her greatest enemy the one she faces directly, or is it something more personal?
Key features of .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND include:
- Active Time Action Battle System: Engage in a combat system designed for both vibe-centric and veteran gamers, where strategic positioning and skill combinations are crucial.
- Meticulously Crafted Stages: Explore seven atmospheric stages filled with hand-placed encounters, dialogues, and riddles.
- Detailed Lo-Fi Visuals: Experience a richly textured cyberpunk world brought to life through detailed lo-fi graphics.
- Gripping Storyline: Uncover a compelling narrative woven through the game’s immersive environments.
Though no release date has been announced, the game is set to debut on PC, with potential console releases yet to be confirmed.
