ReedPop Moves C2E2 To December 2021

It is no secret that C2E2 (Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo) is one of my favorite events of the year. In recent years, C2E2 has been a touchstone of how a well organized comic book convention should operate and function. Around this time of year I’d be planning my adventures for C2E2 for the following year. However, instead of Spring 2021, we’ll be having the convention much later.

ReedPop sent out a press release today detailing when C2E2 would take place next year.

Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo is one of the very best communities and we remain incredibly grateful that we were able to celebrate all the best that geek culture has to offer together with you last February. As a team, we can’t tell you how much we’ve cherished those memories and hope that you have as well.

As we look forward to next year and building you the best event possible, we’ve made the decision to move the show to December 10-12, 2021. Safety, and the well-being of our creators, exhibitors, guests, and the many people that come together to create this event, always comes first for us.
Information about badge sales, guests, and all things C2E2 will be shared in the months to come, but in the meantime, please stay safe, stay healthy, and take care of yourselves and each other.

Given that Covid-19 is still an imminent threat in our country, it makes sense to have large-scale conventions will happen later in the year. By then, we hope to have this pandemic under control. (Fingers Crossed!)

Fun fact: In 2020, C2E2 had a record breaking attendance of 95K. It would be irresponsible and dangerous to have that many people in close-quarters during a pandemic.
