On this episode of #JRPG Academy, Michael discusses one of the biggest hinders to Nihon Falcom’s success and that is Western localization. In recent years, #Falcom is becoming more well known in the West with the success of the #TrailsofColdSteel series. However, newer titles and some older ones have yet to be released or translated (officially) into English. The Trails/#Kiseki universe is very reliant on playing multiple game arcs that interweave each other. They share many parallel plotlines, characters, themes, concepts and motifs that may get lost without proper context. And with the ever growing library of games within this universe, it’s becoming increasingly hard to stay on track with what’s going given how long it takes between Western releases. Michael gives a few solutions to this issue that could help.
