Xenosaga fans have been desperately hoping and praying for an HD remaster of the cult classic trilogy. Many rumors had been swirling during this decade that it would indeed happen at some point. However, it seems the project was underway but didn’t get past the accountants and profit analysts. Harada tweeted this morning about it:
As a longtime Xenosaga/blade/gears fan, it hurts my heart to know that this game may never get remastered. However, I can understand that remastering this game would be a huge undertaking and cost quite a bit. If this remaster can’t turn a profit, it is not a worthwhile business venture. We have to remember that the video game industry is indeed a business first and an artistic medium second.
