News broke yesterday that Wu Assassins star and martial artist Lewis Tan would be taking “unknown” lead role in the upcoming Mortal Kombat live action film produced by New Line.
Lewis being the British gentleman that he is took to his social media pages to announce it formally.
I’m speculating that Lewis is playing Kung Lao more than likely. Lewis will join both Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade and Josh Lawson as Kano. So far the cast includes Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, Joe Taslim as Sub Zero and Ludi Lin as Liu Kang.
Update: More castings have been announced including Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion and Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero.
Still no word on a release date at all. Hopefully they can begin filming soon so we can get a possible late 2020/early 2021 release. I can’t wait to see who will be cast as Kitana and Sindel.
And if you’re unfamiliar with Lewis Tan don’t worry, I’ve curated a few videos that will help you become acquainted with him.
