
One of the biggest stories today was Epic Games unveiling their Unreal Engine 5 tech demo. It’s caused quite a commotion as the tech demo looks incredible even for an early stages of what the new engine can render.
While that’s an awesome tech demo, the real story here is their previous Unreal Engine 4 is now Free-To-Use.

Senior Marketing Manager for EpicGames Dana Cowley also clarified that this is per title:
This is an unprecedented move for Epic. To be honest, it’s a great move because it gives Indie devs tools to make incredible games that can compete with games from AAA studios. It’s a win for the industry. Hopefully this will help more Indie devs in the long run.
