Recently launched on Steam with Chinese and Korean subtitles, Ys X: Nordics, developed by Falcom and ported by Clouded Leopard Entertainment, has encountered a storm of criticism due to its plagued release. Players have reported numerous bugs, glitches, and significant frame rate issues, tarnishing the game’s anticipated debut on PC. The CEO of Clouded Leopard Entertainment, Yuen-Yuen Chen, took to Twitter to issue a heartfelt apology to the gaming community for the subpar quality of the port.
Letter from Clouded Leopard Entertainment CEO
In a press release, Clouded Leopard Entertainment acknowledged the technical issues plaguing the game, including frame rate drops, keyboard settings errors, and freezing during gameplay. As a response, sales of the game have been temporarily suspended on Steam while the development team works tirelessly on an update patch to address these issues. Additionally, the company is offering full refunds to customers who purchased the troubled Steam version.
Despite the setback, Clouded Leopard Entertainment remains committed to delivering a polished gaming experience. The CEO’s apology letter assures fans that the development teams are working diligently to rectify the problems promptly. However, the release of the Western version of Ys X: Nordics in Fall 2024, localized by NIS America, raises concerns about potential challenges ahead. The Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana had a very turbulent launch. With hopes resting on a smoother launch, fans eagerly await further updates and improvements to ensure a seamless gaming experience for all.
As the Falcom community waits patiently for a resolution of the current issues with Ys X: Nordics, the upcoming release under NIS America’s localization brings a mix of anticipation and apprehension. With fingers crossed for a successful launch, fans remain hopeful that future iterations of the game will avoid the pitfalls encountered during its initial release on Steam.
